Welcome to the CF Story page! This is where I will be cataloging some information and updates about a strange little fangame, dubbed "CF Story"!
What's the "CF" stand for you ask? We're not telling!

CF Story: Cascades is a strange fangame combining two games: Rainworld and Shin Megami Tensei. The core concept is this: if Rainworld is in the stone age, what would happen if it was progressed into the 'medieval' age instead? What kind of society would form from the ashes of another one? What kind of events would take place with the slight advancement of technology? Finally, who thought to try such a rediculous combination of game series'? Glad you asked! Meet the creators!
Project Lead
"Heya. I'm the guy who started this project and is also writing the text you're seeing now. Hi!!!
You might be asking why I came up with this project. I wouldn't blame you!! There's a reason I've made fun of the absurdity of this game's existence like three times now already!! The truth is... I just got obsessed with both games at the same time. Yep, really, that's it. Well actually it's a bit more complicated than that, but I can't fit it all in just this one little info box thingy.
Anyways the gist of my 'job title' is that I handle three things: I actually code and make the game itself, I direct the team in asset creation and direction, and I handle the things like this! Which is to say, the website and whatnot. Basically, I'm the guy who shares this dumb little project wherever people are interested.
I would WANT to say that I'm the one that takes the brunt of the work, but that's simply not true! It's a biggol' team effort and this project is only possible thanks to the lovely artists and contributors and team members below :]"

Remember when I said all I did was code the game, manage the team, and write up this website? Well, that was kind of a lie, because I actually have FOUR jobs, and the fourth one is being the lead composer!! Surprise!!
Here are some of the less spoiler-ey tracks for the game!! If they take a while to load, then sorry, but it does that sometimes.

NOTICE: All art shown is not final and is subject to change.
This is the section I'm excited most about because I get to show off the talent of the other very talented people who work on this game!! Just like how many classic games of the era handled it, we're taking real 2D drawings and then 'digitizing' them to make them smaller little 2D pixel sprites for use in the game. Check this shit out!

Yeah so this is the only character without a transparent background in their base drawing, sorry I was too lazy to delete it myself :v. Anyways, this is him! The guy! The main character! The dude! So on! Yep, that's a Survivor alright! Look at his fashionable shoulder-pad! This guy's the mainest character of them all, YOU! Better get used to looking at em', because you'll be you for a while. Personality traits include: whatever the flying fuck you want because it's YOU baybee!! Well, that and the personality test you answer at the start of the game. PMD much? Oops, spoilers!! (Not really though because it's the first thing you do in the game).

It's the long-tounged maverick, the monk with tha spunk (not to be confused with Monk), the flying cat rat slug thing with a mission, it's the Saint! They're here and they're ready to uh... do Saint things I guess. Look at how cool the scarf is, and they even got a cloak-thing! Neato, isn't it? Have you ever had a wise mentor-figure with age to match their intelligence? No? Well NOW YOU HAVE! This bad baby is full of SO MANY proverbs and non-meat material it's a wonder that they aren't classified as a fortune-cookie. If one could count the gallons of green tea drank by this little ritual practitioner alone, you'd be up to your chin in it.

There he is! There's my boy! That's Gourmand! This little (big) thing's, like, kind of an adventurer? Kind of not? What even constitutes as an adventurer for Slugcats? I don't even know anymore, this canon is awfully strange. Point is that they make mad cash goin' out there and exploring or whatever. This ball of pure joy is living the high life after a big job, and plans to kick back and enjoy the rest of their life in retirement. Ha, ha, ha. If only they knew they would later feature as one of the main characters listed on a webpage dedicated to a WIP fangame as self-indulgant as they are.

Here's a bunch of the 'generic NPC slugcats' used around the game world. Sometimes they explain quirks of the area, random mechanics to keep in-mind, or sometimes just say whatever the heck they want!

The only enemy we have finished and digitized so far is the Vulture. The Green Lizard art is *done*, but not digitized yet. Also, the digitized version of the Vulture here was of poor quality and I will probably retry it later. The base art itself is great, though!
