Hello! And welcome to my SMT shrine! As you can probably tell, I am a much bigger fan of the earlier games in the series than the later ones, mostly due to the whole atmosphere and vibes.

If you've clicked on this page, that probably means you already know the gist of what SMT is. If you don't, I'd be very confused as to why you clicked your way here, but regardless, I'm going to proceed as if you know what the SMT series is and what it's mainly about, so without further ado...

This shrine will be structured like so: the more well-known games and spinoffs will be listed at the top (heaven), and the lesser-known games and spinoffs will be listed at the bottom (hell). Now, onto my thoughts of the most well-known games/series':

Persona Logo

Does this one even need an introduction? It's literally more popular than the mainline games somehow. I am convinced that if demons are real and can be summoned with computer devices as SMT warns us, then the creators of the Persona series have conducted their own cyber-ritual ensuring the success of this unlawful and grotesque series.

Anyways yeah I think it's pretty neat. All of the Persona games are good IMO but Persona 5 is only really good in a vacuum because I think comparing it to the other Persona games is unfair. That's my only two cents.

SMT Logo

This most likely also does not need much introduction.
...It's mainline SMT for god's sake. You clicked the page, you know what it is. I've actually played every mainline SMT game except for SMT 3 and SMT 4, which is kind of sad because I hear those are like the best ones. I'm pretty content with SMT 1 and 2 though, they're my favorites. Even if I haven't played SMT 3 or 4, I've still seen gameplay and whatnot of them, and I definitely like SMT 1 and 2's vibes more, even if SMT 4 is a very close contender.
What can I say? Cheesy computer demons is my thing, I always liked the technical aspect of it all.
All in all though, comparing the games is a pretty foolish endeavour, since they're all pretty different anyways. Even SMT 1 and 2 had a great deal of differences (especially in setting and atmosphere) despite using very similar engines and graphics and whatnot.

Strange Journey Logo

I have a terrible confession to make. I only started playing Strange Journey because of this shrine, specifically because I didn't have enough SMT games that I actually played to talk about, and I needed more, LMAO.
Genuinely though, this is a terrible transgression. Devil Survivor will be next. My thoughts on the game so far, though? I never thought I'd enjoy a generic military plot like this but y'know I think it's pretty neat. Maybe I'm just finally able to appreciate it now that I'm finding myself try to enjoy certain kinds of plots more.
Whatever the reason is, I haven't even gotten out of the first dungeon, and this game is pretty awesome. You've probably heard enough people shove this game down your throat so I won't say anything more than 'you should play it'.
Oh god, am I gonna have to update this page now with every update to my playthrough of Strange Journey? Oops.

Last Bible Logo

I'll be honest. I don't think Last Bible is THAT unknown, especially after Marsh's great video series about it, however, it has come to my attention the annoying fact that if a game in the SMT series isn't well known about then it is probably the case that I do not know about it. The truth is, as much as I like to say I am an SMT fan, I have not even played most of the games people consider good let alone the weird dark corners of the series that no one talks about. As this is the case, Last Bible is going in Hell. Sorry folks.

Regardless, Last Bible is awesome and I love it. Being able to give equipment to demons is my favorite thing ever and Last Bible 3's plot is one of the craziest RPG plots I think I've ever seen and I love it. I won't spoil anything (especially when you can just spoil yourself by watching Marsh's great video series about it instead) but let's just say that the main character of the first game does some pretty crazy shit in one port/remake of the game and, it only gets more wild from there. Big respect to this spinoff.

Jack Bros. Logo

Jack Bros. is like one of my favorite fucking games of all time. It's such a weird little thing. I love it. I don't think anything else needs to be said about it. Play it please.
